PNM has recently added digital media classes to its programming as a way to expand the art curriculum and bring in new, popular approaches for self-expression.

Video Production and Editing

Since September of 2007, PNM has collaborated with the Somerville Community Access Television Station to provide young people with an opportunity to participate in video production and editing classes.

Young Latino Producers

In 2008, a few of the young people who received trainings through SCAT's Next Generation Producers Project in the Fall of 2007, began a new group called Young Latino Producers. This new team was formed by young people who were interested in producing videos that would educate other young people on issues concerning education, immigration, and racism in the greater Boston area.

Currently, YLP is working on a documentary that addresses the struggles that immigrant youth face within the public schools in the area. The documentary will provide youth input regarding the increasing Latino drop-out rate in Massachusetts, and will discuss the barriers that immigrant youth are facing as they attempt to go to college. After completion, the video will be screened throughout the greater Boston area, and will be used as part of an educational project.
