Volunteer

We have volunteer and internship opportunities in the following areas:

Adult Education

Teach or assist ESOL, Spanish literacy, Computer skills classes, or tutor adults learning English one-on-one (contact Luz Elena Martinez at 617-629-4731 x223 or lmartinez@cpresente.org).

Youth Organizing

Assist with our youth organizing program for Latino youth in Somerville as an academic skills tutor or mentor.

Legal Department

Assist our legal department staff in the provision of legal services. A great opportunity to learn about immigration law and the current challenges the Latino immigrant community is facing (contact Carlos Galvez at 617-629-4731 x222 or Cgalvez@cpresente.org).

Community Organizing & Political Advocacy

Help organize the Latino immigrant community to work for immigration legislation and policy that is more just and humane (contact Patricia Montes at 617-629-4731 x211 or Pmontes@cpresente.org).

Competencies

  • Bilingual: English and Spanish (depending on volunteer role)
  • Personal commitment to immigrant rights, the self-determination of the community and other social justice issues.
